Marina's Diamonds Attend Electra Heart Performance

Hundreds of heartbreakers gathered at the Seattle Showbox Sodo Thursday evening to see Welsh singer and songwriter, Marina & the Diamonds perform for her Electra Heart tour.

Marina & the Diamonds gave a fun performance, that
was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone in the audience.
Marina’s second album “Electra Heart” was released in April of 2012. It has fun pop songs such as “Homewrecker,” “Primadonna,” and “How to Be a Heartbreaker,” but also has more solemn ballads like “The State of Dreaming,” “Teen Idle,” and “Fear and Loathing.” The album’s main themes are love and the search for identity, as well as being a girl and breaking hearts.

Thursday’s performance was all hearts and glitter. Marina’s Seattle fans came with her signature heart drawn on their left cheek, threw away their inhibitions, and bonded over their love for Marina and hipster clothing.

Marina came on stage decked out in wedding gear, to sing her song “Homewrecker,” then threw off the veil and tossed the flowers when the bass dropped. Her performance included many costume changes, dancing, and at one time throwing a martini glass of glitter out into the crowd.

The audience and Marina fed off of each other’s energy, and when it came down to the last couple of songs, no one wanted it to end. However, Marina did not leave the crowd disappointed as she ended with a favorite: “How to Be a Heartbreaker.”
